About the HydraFacial

When you want a gentle, yet effective way to treat your facial skin for anti-aging, acne, textural issues, or a combination of conditions, a HydraFacial is a fabulous option in facial rejuvenation treatments. Having the HydraFacial technology available to patients of all skin types provides these men and women with the opportunity to have medical-grade facials to improve their skin. Plastic surgeon Dr. Karen Leong can help you achieve radiant, even-textured skin that feels fresh and clean with just one session or in a series of HydraFacial sessions. You can even accomplish this on your lunch hour because it is quick and shouldn't leave your face red or inflamed. Getting a consistent HydraFacial once a month at one of our locations will reveal better results than a single session. Whether you are concerned about the signs of aging, clogged pores, rough skin texture, or dry spots, plastic surgeon Dr. Karen Leong and her certified medical aestheticians can provide you with a custom HydraFacial plan based on your skin type to address your needs and concerns. Schedule an appointment to find out more about the HydraFacial system and other rejuvenation services to keep your skin looking amazing.

Ideal Candidates

The HydraFacial system is designed to be suitable for patients of all ages and skin types. The treatment will be customized to suit your specific needs and goals. Skin concerns that may be improved by a HydraFacial include:

  • Brown or sun spots
  • Chronic or infrequent outbreaks of acne
  • Decreased skin elasticity or firmness
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Large or congested pores
  • Oily skin
  • Rough skin texture
  • Uneven or dull skin tone

Procedure Technique

HydraFacials are performed in our office in about 30 minutes. The facial will begin with a thorough consultation to select the best products and options for your facial. As soon as your plan is complete, you will be invited to relax in a private room as your procedure begins. HydraFacials include six main steps: cleansing, exfoliation, pore extraction, hydration, adding nourishment, and protection for your skin. These steps are customized to the needs of your complexion by using the appropriate cleansers, level of exfoliation, moisturizers, serums, and other products. HydraFacials can be further personalized with another complementary facial treatment available at our office.

What to Expect

If needed, you may reapply makeup following your treatment to hide mild redness before you resume your daily activities. You will likely have visible improvements to your complexion immediately after your procedure, with full results visible in 3 – 7 days. To sustain the benefits of your treatment, Dr. Leong recommends these treatments every 4 – 6 weeks. During your consultation, we can help you schedule future treatments and discuss products that may be used at home to best maintain your complexion in between appointments.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a HydraFacial cost?
When you include a HydraFacial in your skin care treatment, you may need a series of facials to get the results you want. Dr. Leong will discuss the fees with you during your skin assessment. There may be additional add-on serums you might need for specific conditions, which will increase the price.

Can I get a facial with active acne?
Yes. Our certified medical aestheticians will glide the HydraFacial handpiece over your face, which has a vacuum-like suction that gently pulls bacteria, dead skin cells, and debris from your skin even with acne. If you need to have a more in-depth extraction, our aestheticians can perform that as well.

How often can I have a HydraFacial?
You may think that more is better with the HydraFacial, however, we recommend having this treatment about once a month. You may need a series of treatments for your skin to adjust, heal, and reveal improvements over time.

I have oily skin. Why would I want to have a HydraFacial?
You may think that you do not need to "hydrate" oily skin, but this is not the case. The HydraFacial will do an amazing job at cleaning out your pores that are regularly oversaturated with oil produced by your own skin. With a HydraFacial, you will experience a cleaner look and feel to your skin. We can also customize what serums and products we use on your skin to improve your oily skin.

Is this treatment good for all skin types?
The good news is that the HydraFacial is one treatment that most patients have excellent results without adverse side effects. If you have sensitive skin or have had a reaction to an ingredient in the serums, you may bring it up at your appointment that you have concerns for your skin.
