With its physical and hormonal changes, pregnancy can leave you wanting your old body back. Dr. Leong will design a mommy makeover treatment plan for you that includes surgical and nonsurgical methods to help you regain the body you had before pregnancy.
What is a Mommy Makeover?
There is no one mommy makeover procedure. Each focuses on the individual’s needs. Dr. Leong in Newport Beach can perform mommy makeovers that include the following procedures:
- Tummy tuck (removal of loose skin and repair of abdominal muscles)
- Butt lift
- Brazilian butt lift (fat transfer to the buttocks)
- Breast augmentation
- Breast lift
- Breast augmentation with lift
- Liposculpture (body contouring)
- Injectable dermal fillers
- Injectable wrinkle relaxers
- Laser treatments
- Vaginal rejuvenation
Mommy makeovers often include some form of a tummy tuck to tighten your stretched abdominal skin and separated abdominal muscles. With or without a lift, breast augmentation is also a popular procedure to restore lift and volume lost during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Any of the above treatments and procedures can be combined to produce your own unique mommy makeover.

How Long is Recovery From a Mommy Makeover?
Since a mommy makeover often involves several procedures in different areas of the body, you may feel sore and have some trouble with moving around for the first few days. If possible, find someone who can help you during that time. You will be able to resume your regular routine after a few weeks, although complete healing can take up to six months.
Dr. Leong will provide a detailed aftercare plan to help you in your recovery. You should follow these instructions carefully to make sure you heal well and achieve your best possible results. Make sure to wear the provided compression garments as instructed since they provide support and control swelling.
What Is a Mommy Makeover Like?
Since a mommy makeover will include different procedures depending on your needs, your surgery may last anywhere from about three to seven hours. Depending on your treatment plan, you may receive injections in the facial area or laser treatments to tighten and firm the skin. You may also have liposculpting and procedures on your buttocks, abdomen, and breasts. Dr. Leong performs your mommy makeover under general anesthesia, and most people can go home after a period of observation. Some people may need to spend a night at a recovery center.
Am I a Good Candidate for a Mommy Makeover?
Ideal candidates for a mommy makeover are in good health and lead a generally healthy lifestyle. People with significant medical conditions may not be good candidates for a mommy makeover, but Dr. Leong will determine whether the procedure is safe for you.
Women considering a mommy makeover should keep in mind that if they become pregnant again, this will undo many of their mommy makeover results. You may need to have some of your surgical procedures done over again. It is recommended that women wait to have a mommy makeover until done having children, if possible.
“I had a botched surgery in 2018 which left me without a nipple and one breast at a c the other a dd… I was absolutely petrified of going under the knife again. Then I developed BII symptoms and knew that the implants had to come out. I researched dr’s who supported BII -(many surgeons Don’t want to believe it) and I found dr prong who was supportive, kind and understood. I have always struggled with stubborn back fat and a bit of excess in between my thighs so dr Leong removed the implants, did liposuction to my arms sides and thighs and performed a fat transfer to my breasts. I am5 days post op and I cannot believe how amazing I feel. She is the best. I would never go anywhere else and would recommend her to anyone. Xo”*
