Procedure Technique

Restylane dermal injections take place inside the treatment room. A numbing cream can be applied for increased patient comfort if preferred. The treatment is injected into your skin through a very fine needle and gently massaged so it fills the needed areas. Multiple injections will be needed to be followed by a cold, gentle compress to decrease swelling. Each Restylane formula is administered with a similar technique but on different areas of the face targeted to fit your specific needs and goals.

What to Expect

When your Restylane procedure is done, you can return to your day. Your recovery timeframe will depend on what is being treated, so talk to your injector about what to expect. The injection sites will appear slightly red and swollen, but this often goes away after several hours. Bruising can appear, but this can usually be concealed with makeup. It is recommended that you avoid strenuous activities like exercise for 1 – 2 days, and you should sleep upright for at least the first night. Most patients will experience some improvements immediately after the injections, but it often takes 1 – 2 weeks before the final results appear. Restylane injection treatments generally last about a year depending on the exact product used.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does this cost?
Injectable fillers are a great way to turn back the hands of time without spending a fortune. During the consultation, we will assess your skin and address the areas of concern by determining how many units of Restylane are needed to attain the right result. Because each treatment plan is customized for the patient, the number of units will vary by case. The total cost will be determined based on how many areas we are treating and the volume of the filler injected. Fillers are a fraction of the cost of a surgical procedure, which is why so many patients turn to nonsurgical skin rejuvenation first before considering cosmetic surgery.

What is Restylane most commonly used for?
